Three senior appointments at Barminco

Leading underground hard-rock mining contractor, Barminco is pleased to announce three senior appointments.

Victor Rajasooriar has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Mr Rajasooriar has almost 20 years' experience in the mining sector. He was most recently managing director of formerly ASX-listed company Breakaway Resources until completion of the company's recommended takeover by Mintoaur Exploration Ltd. He previously held operational management positions for mine owners at several underground sites and also has experience in contracting roles. Mr Rajasooriar holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the WA School of Mines.

Louis Mostert has been appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary. Mr Mostert was most recently general counsel at FTSE-100-listed company AMEC Australia and South East Asia. This was a continuation of his role as group general counsel at ASX-listed GRD Ltd, prior to it being acquired by AMEC. Mr Mostert has almost 15 years' experience in the legal profession, including more than 10 years at AMEC/GRD. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2000 and holds a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Engineering from UWA.

Michael Ellis has been appointed as Financial Controller. Mr Ellis was most recently general manager of finance at Seven West Media, where he was responsible for a business unit with turnover of $350 million, and was also joint company secretary. Mr Ellis has more than 10 years' experience in finance, including working at Cooper Partners (now merged with PwC). He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UWA.
