Barminco apprenticeship program wins award

Barminco has been recognised as the Employer of the Year at the State Training Awards for Polytechnic West at Crown Perth.

"It was a great pleasure to represent Barminco at the awards this week. I am proud of the achievements that have been made with all our apprentices," said Steve Motion, Apprentice Master.

Barminco's apprenticeship program provides training at the company's fully equipped workshop in Hazelmere, as well as development programs on its sites. Since starting in the late 1990s, Barminco's program has received multiple awards for its commitment and innovation in the way apprentices are supported and trained.

"We support the development of our people and the apprenticeship program is one way in which Barminco invests in its future workforce," said Chief Executive Officer, Peter Stokes.

The Polytechnic West Awards acknowledged successful employer partnerships. Barminco currently employs 55 apprentices training towards becoming qualified heavy duty plant mechanics, auto electricians and boilermakers.
