Our goal is to recruit and develop future industry leaders and ensure our graduates leave the program with the experience and knowledge to successfully run mining operations and fulfil the requirement for Western Australian First Class Mine Managers’ Certificate (or regional equivalent).
Barminco’s graduate program provides hands on practical experience and training to complement theoretical knowledge and create leaders for the industry.
Our two-and-a-half-year program for graduate mining engineers provides the necessary experience as a platform for your career to grow as well as qualify for the certificates of competency required for becoming statutory mine managers. The growth and development of each graduate is promoted through the program's focus on:
- Exposure to many different underground mining methods and environments.
- Building core leadership skills required to effectively manage people and teams.
- Real practical experience, embedded in a mining team.
Barminco graduates receive a competitive remuneration package, which reflects the performance standards we expect of our graduates.
The Barminco graduate intake takes place annually from April each year to start in January the following year. We encourage potential graduates to apply to participate in our summer Vacation Work Program. (See below)
Start your career with Barminco by enlisting in the Barminco Vacation Work Program.
Barminco offers students enrolled in mining engineering degrees’ access to the Barminco Vacation Work Program. Students participate in a variety of hands on underground roles where the experience gained will complement theoretical learnings.
Barminco encourages our vacation work students to participate in further vacation work over the course of their degree, with the aim of enlisting into our Graduate Program upon completion of their degree. Winter break experience may be available to students who have completed summer vacation work with Barminco.
Vacation students will be competitively remunerated at entry-level operator rates for the program.
We commence recruitment for our Vacation Work Program in September each year for the summer vacation period.
