Barminco is part of the Perenti Group, an ASX 200 company and Australia's second largest integrated mining services provider.  We are a global leader in hard rock underground mining; together with African Underground Mining Services (AUMS) we operate in Australia, Canada and across Africa in Egypt, Ghana, Tanzania, Botswana and Burkina Faso.  New projects will see Barminco and AUMS grow to over 5,100 employees in 2021, across 25 projects in seven countriesWe are actively seeking Experienced Underground Auto Electrician to join us in our African Operations on a 8 week on, 6 week off roster.The emphasis of the role is ensuring that the local workers are developing their skills and knowledge by way of sharing your experience and being a role model. You will require boundless energy, resilience, determination and a genuine interest in working with people from different cultures.Duties and Responsibilities:Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations and the service sheet;Utilise skill and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery;Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved;Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times, ensure all parts are kept at minimum stock levels;Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals;Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly Minimum Requirements:Essential Requirements:A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times;A sound knowledge on Sandvik U/G Development/Production Drills and LoadersExperience on Caterpillar Underground LoadersProven knowledge on remote control systems either RCT or Sandvik.Experienced in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high productivity underground contracting mining environment;Strong background working with latest generation underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems;At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment;Self-starter who will work with minimal supervision;Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job;International Drivers License.Your proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much valued employee in line with AUMS’s values and ‘can do’ attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive remuneration package completing our vision of a work life balance in a strong team environment.A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol, and site specific clearances. A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications are required to be presented at time of interview.   • At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment;
  • Self-starter who will work with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job;
  • International Drivers License.
