We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and direct organizations accounting functions and deliver the month and year end financial closes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this key position will provide an excellent opportunity to further develop your career and work alongside Mining professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage overall end to end financial management of Barminco’s financial affairs in North America.
• Ensure compliance with statutory law, taxation and financial regulations.
• Expertise in IFRS, tax compliance, management, and financial reporting.
• Competent to prepare accurate periodic financial reports on a timely basis.
• Experience in budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Administrate cashflow reporting and management of treasury function.
• Strong analytical skills for problem solving and process improvement.
• Previously held leadership positions and have experience in effectively managing a team.
• Able to build strong relationships with business partners including operations, procurement & supply, commercial, legal, HR and group finance.
• Experience in managing external statutory financial reporting and providing the first point of contact for the external auditors.
• Site visits to our Canada operations.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience post professional qualification (CA/CPA)
• Mining Experience
• Strong understanding of employment law – US/Canada desirable
• Specific technical knowledge of Pronto or has worked with similar ERP systems – SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency is a must
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates, and licences (RPL’s) 
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, Security Checks & valid Driver’s Licence)
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
