Working a rotation of 14-shifts on and 14-shifts off, this position is fly-in/fly-out.(Must have provincial proof of 2 completed COVID-19 vaccinations to be allowed to fly.)

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while developing, maintaining and delivering hands-on and in-class mining health, safety, environmental, heavy equipment and mine operations training programs.

More specifically, the Health & Safety Trainers will:

  • Deliver training and conduct employee assessments to determine level of required skills and competencies
  • Mentor trainees to impart knowledge, skill and confidence
  • Conduct regular reviews of training programs to ensure up-to-date content
  • Regularly liaise with Project Managers, Foreman and Supervisors to determine training requirements and to keep apprised of changes to policy and procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in underground mining industry operating various progressive equipment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Mine Trainer Role
  • Supervisor and Train the Trainer Certifications
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, energetic
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
