Barminco is part of the Perenti Group, an ASX 200 company and Australia's second largest integrated mining services provider.  We are a global leader in hard rock underground mining; together with African Underground Mining Services (AUMS) we operate in Australia, India and across Africa in Egypt, Ghana, Tanzania, Botswana and Burkina Faso.  New projects will see Barminco and AUMS grow to over 4,500 employees in 2020.AUMS are actively seeking to recruit experienced Jumbo Operators to join us in our African Operations on a 4 week on, 4 week off roster.This challenging and rewarding role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your career and work alongside experienced industry professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment.Duties involved in the role:Accurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised electric/Hydraulic Jumbo drill suitable to ground conditions and in compliance with site specific drill patterns and survey instruction.Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.Read and accurately follow mining instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile.Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required.Optimise drill patterns to ensure maximum advance per round is achieved whilst maintaining strict adherence to design specifications.Ensure work area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform working duties including ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of the drilling area.Your proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much valued employee in line with AUMS’s values and ‘can do’ attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive, targeted, remuneration package completing our vision of a work life balance in a strong team environment.Prior to hire you will be required to sit a full pre-employment medical, including vaccinations required for the area you will be working, a drug and alcohol screen and site specific clearances. 200000 AUD Nation - Other - Overseas Middle East & Africa Sub-Saharan Africa Dar es Salaam
