We’re looking for safety-focused and driven individuals to join Team Barminco and grow with us. About the roleWe’re looking for experienced Jumbo Operators to join our Zone 5 Mining Operations in Botswana on a 6:3 roster.This challenging and rewarding role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your career and work alongside experienced industry professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised electric/Hydraulic Jumbo drill suitable to ground conditions and in compliance with site specific drill patterns and survey instruction.Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.Read and accurately follow mining instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile.Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required.Optimise drill patterns to ensure maximum advance per round is achieved whilst maintaining strict adherence to design specifications.Ensure work area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform working duties including ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of the drilling area. Skills and experienceA minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground mining operationsExperience with emulsion and low impact explosivesValid Australian Manual Driver's LicenceWA Shotfirer's LicenceWA Dangerous Goods CardWorking at Heights CertificateAn acceptable National Police ClearanceAble to pass a pre-employment medical including a clear drug and alcohol screenA strong focus toward safety and hazard identification  170000 AUD Nation - Other - Overseas Middle East & Africa Gaborone

About the role

Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground mining operations
  • Experience with emulsion and low impact explosives
  • Valid Australian Manual Driver's Licence
  • WA Shotfirer's Licence
  • WA Dangerous Goods Card
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • An acceptable National Police Clearance
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical including a clear drug and alcohol screen
  • A strong focus toward safety and hazard identification
