We look forward to receiving your application for the opportunity presented below.At Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd., we are committed to fostering a culture that understands and values inclusion and diversity. The Opportunity:Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Magazine Keeper to join our team at the Williams Mine, Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.This role will start on a 14-days on / 7-days off rotation, with the intention of becoming 14-days on / 14-days off.Shifts are days and nights.It is a "drive in/drive out" role if you reside outside the Marathon area.Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while ensuring the safe storage and transportation of explosives to the charge-up (blasting) crews underground at the Hemlo Operations.More specifically, Magazine Keepers will:Safely handle all explosive materials by following all safety and standard operating proceduresEnforce safety procedures by all persons entering magazineKeep the magazine in a clean condition free of debrisBe responsible and accountable for issuing explosives to authorized personnelConduct scheduled inspections and report on the condition of the magazine and the explosives to your supervisorKeep an accurate count of the explosives stored in the magazine and report as scheduledAssist in other duties as required Skills and Experience:Minimum high-school diploma or equivalentDemonstrated commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of othersMinimum 3 years’ experience working in an underground minePrevious experience as a magazine keeper is an assetStrong communications, organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently with limited supervision while still being a contributing member of a teamAbility to work in a cross-cultural environment What we offer:Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd. can offer you a role where you will be challenged and valued for your skills and experience.   • Keep the magazine in a clean condition free of debris
  • Be responsible and accountable for issuing explosives to authorized personnel
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and report on the condition of the magazine and the explosives to your supervisor
  • Keep an accurate count of the explosives stored in the magazine and report as scheduled
  • Assist in other duties as required

 Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum high-school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an underground mine
  • Previous experience as a magazine keeper is an asset
  • Strong communications, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while still being a contributing member of a team
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
