The Opportunity:  Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mine Dry and Cap Lamp Attendant to join our team at the Red Chris Mine in the Stikine region of British Columbia

Working a rotation of 14-shifts on / 14-shifts off, this position is a FIFO role.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers, while maintaining the cleanliness of the mine site’s dry facilities and supply of cap lamps and underground rescuers in good working condition.

More specifically, our Dry and Cap Lamp Attendant will:

• Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures and ensure the crews are also in compliance
• Maintains cleanliness of the dry facilities (sweeping, mopping, cleaning, disinfecting, restroom cleaning etc)
• Maintain consumable inventory supply in washrooms
• Process washing/drying of soiled coveralls
• Sorting and organizing coverall storage areas
• Issue cap lamps, radios and self-rescuers, ensure they are returned and charged correctly, make small repairs when necessary.
• Removing full garbage bins and taking to designated disposal containers

Skills and Experience:

• Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalency
• Basic computer skills (typing, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Spirit of collaboration
• Sense of efficiency and responsibility
• Good time management and organization skills
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
