To date, we have trained over 20,000 Africans and developed over 100 African expatriates.In line with Barminco's forecasted growth, we are seeking applications from experienced Underground Electricians to join us in our East African Operations.The ideal candidate will come with the following experience & knowledge;Be conversant with Australian AS NZS 3000-2000 electrical installations – AS NZS 3008.1.1 -1998selection of cables – AS NZS 3017 – 2001 testing & inspection guidelinesPossess a current Australian electrical licence – unrestrictedHave completed a high voltage switching courseHave experience with Flygt pump repairs & maintenance – oversee rebuilds of pumps to maintain spare pumps for immediate useHigh voltage installations & testing– including inline joins, 11kv plug terminationsThis position is a hands-on role and responsible in ensuring the effective transfer of skills and knowledge to National electrical personnel in HV preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance at the mine site, with all work performed in a safe and efficient manner.Duties and Responsibilities:Carry out scheduled (1000v, 11kv and 33kv) electrical servicing in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations and the service sheet;Carry out all repairs in accordance with AUMS procedures;Complete all service sheets and document additional repairs completed during servicing;Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workshop and working areas at all times;Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals;Advise the electrical workshop supervisors of parts used and any additional part requirements;Train and mentor National electrical personnel to support a constructive team environment;Report all equipment faults to the Electrical Foreman for scheduling into the weekly electrical maintenance plan.Monitor shift reports – schedule any outstanding work from the previous shiftMonitor the availability of tools & test instruments given to the national employeesYour proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much valued employee in line with AUMS’s values and ‘can do’ attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive remuneration package completing our vision of a work life balance in a strong team environment.A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications are required to be presented at time of interview.
