The Pomposo Footbridge Project addressed a long-standing safety concern for the communities of Pomposo and Akaporiso in Ghana.Previously, pedestrians crossing the Pomposo River shared a narrow bridge with vehicle traffic, creating significant safety risks for school children, traders and other community members.The dedicated pedestrian footbridge now provides more than 1,500 safe crossings each day, improving access to education, employment, markets and essential services while strengthening connections between the two communities.UMA, our joint venture with Rocksure International, has been working at AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi Gold Mine in Ghana since 2019.
